I Am A Tree 

 

I am one of life’s many miracles

A seed that fell to the earth

Welcomed with joy, nourished with care

A fledgling of the clan of green

 

I was taught to reach for the sun

Provide shelter for all that seek harbour

To grow strong and stand tall

Be one with myself and myself with all

 

For I am vital to the forest

Relied upon by the dwellers

Who repay purpose with fulfillment

By the good company of our kinship

 

I am one of many role players

With one responsibility above all

To flourish while holding my place

And support by sharing my gifts

 

As is everything

I am an intention of the universe

A moment’s progression

In a continuum of eternal moments
