skyscraper manwind

 

a runaway skyscraper manwind 

derisively dismissed

its impotent citified restraints

as it barrelled noisily

through the concrete corridors

muting the vocally expletive protests

directed its way

 

bad hair days were suffered

by all (except the hairless)

who had the sudden misfortune

to become obstacle course pylons

and bullied battered bowling pins

 

I was a victim

 

I lost my hat

 

but I kept my hair

 

that makes me a survivor

 

for now
