Sorrow Seeking Sorrow
Sorrow seeking sorrow
For the moments it can borrow
In between what’s hidden out of sight
Danger courting danger
Behind a most familiar stranger
Through a mottled maze in deep imposing night
You can’t leave until you fall
Dodging bricks tossed from the wall
Beyond which something wondrous grows
Delivered silence with a thunder
Rapt in anguish from each blunder
Divergent from the secrets unexposed
Life unmeant from a hidden sore
With best intent but little more
Oozing out from porous powder kegs
Heart in twisted web gets caught
Laid open begging for one shot
As its futile pleas get driven to the dregs
What garden can maintain its green
While waiting for the fatal scene
Misdirected by a bitten crooked hand
But in a ghosted world of strange
Still one can fight to bring a change
And feed the hunger to grow & build & stand
And this faith shall not be strayed
For the risks are far outweighed
By the magic in the souls that stake their say
The elusive happiness that’s sought
May soon emerge and then be brought
To the table of a bright and better day
