Freedom, Forests, & Fate
The prisoner of freedom
Is the jailor with key
Unlocks door to dark tunnel
Crawls to light soul must see
Where still are the waters
And calm is the air
And the bluest new blue sky
Cradles dove in its care
The fate of the forest
Cast by seed of a tree
Rests in constant renewal
Of its own greenery
What is holier in spirit
Than anyone’s god
Springs from that seedling
The forest once viewed as odd
Life’s landscape of change
Unfolds in mystical ways
Paints us pictures of hope
That fill all of our days
From prisoners of freedom
Through forests of fate
We enter and leave
Passing through every gate
And no matter what
Is meant or not meant to be
There’s an always that’s always
And a prisoner set free
An always that’s always
And always……with me
