Lost Is Not Broken

Lost is not broken
And lost bears no shame
Lost is the struggle
Through guilt, fear and pain

Lost is the damage unwittingly dealt
From those too self-absorbed to notice each welt
It’s the price that is paid for other soul’s sins
Innocence robbed is where the spiral begins

Lost builds its walls with rehearsed alibis
Blinds itself to its sight with all manner of lies
From the pain of all that has laid it to shame
Bears its own sorrow and shoulders the blame

Lost is cocooned in a protectionist state
Seeks the comfort of signs to unravel its fate
Yet only heeds what feeds all its fears
Weaving intricate webs grown thicker by years

Lost lingers lonely in its fortified vault
Wounded, scarred deeply by others at fault
Yet has all the tools to out-inward face
Lay rest to its shadows and regain rightful place

It’s a universe of healing brought lost to me
To shed dead skin layers and set its soul free
To dig for its truth down deep in its well
And find its way free from the chains of its hell

There’s a master plan that is not quite yet done
Till lost empties the chamber from its self-aiming gun
To heal from the refuse of all lifelong harms
Find trust in the soul with the welcoming arms

Lost in its shadows is still journey bound
To find the right steps on its way back to found
To steer itself back to what should rightfully be
And sing itself whole to its own harmony

The universe delivered lost to lost to both see
That lost next to lost is profound entity
The signs point directions for predestined roles
In the journey to heal their most rarefied souls
