Inside Trip
I watch the evening shadows
Sweep over steps in my minds distance
Through cloud and fog I strain for vision
Of a glimpse of remote clarity
The stubborn pixels refuse to line up
They clash and crash and push apart
Creating chaos most confusing and absurd
Steps rise and disappear into their own perspective
The resolution is most clearly blurred
The stronger the gaze
The thicker the haze
More determined, I intensify my focus
Extrapolate with interpolative intuition
For I must fulfill my need
To plan the trip and make the climb
To find out where those darn steps lead
I think the first step is a good place to start
But I don’t know what to pack for the trip?
