Here I go again waxing analytical

On problems socio-eco-political

Principles and aesthetics

Behind questionable ethics

While good sense tops the list critical

 

We fare poorly under the weight

Of our apathy carrying the debate

Surely there’s no trend

Toward an inevitable end

Denial’s an alarm that wakes us up late

 

There has to be a much better way

To restore us from stupidity’s decay

Consideration and trust

All together or bust

Or maybe we’ve outlived our stay?

 

The Earth becoming a global trash can

With no agreement on a viable plan

Neither simple nor cryptic

But quite apocalyptic

The big shit’s inching closer to the fan
